  1. How to install PowerCLI 10 on Windows 10 – online and offline high level steps

1.1 Online installation:

Step1: Access PowerShell  – Run as Administrator 

Step2: Install-Module -Name VMware.PowerCLI 

Post installation we may face an error states as ‘connect-viserver’ not recognized…unable to load but found…etc..Run below command as solution

Step3: set-executionpolicy remotesigned

Step4: connect-viserver : Verify that it should prompt for server IP / Hostname

1.2.Offline installation

Step1: Create folder to store PowerCLI modules  [ If we didn’t create error will be occurred as a result]

Step2: save-module -name vmware.powercli -path c:\Modules 

Step3: Copy and paste the modules to : C:\Program Files\WindowsPowerShell\Modules

Step4: Find-module -name vmware.powercli  : It should be able to find the repository

Step5: set-executionpolicy remotesigned

Step6: import-module -name vmware.powercli

Step7: connect-viserver : Verify that prompt for vCenter hostname/ip
